Subject and Predicate

The subject names the person, place, thing, or idea discussed in the sentence.

The predicate contains the verb and provides information about the subject.

Example

My older brother works in a hospital.
Subject: My older brother
Predicate: works in a hospital

The complete subject may contain modifiers. The complete predicate may contain objects, complements, and adverbial information.
